The Coding and Robotics Bundle course is for learners who are starting out with robotics and coding as their main area of interest, and are ready to make a long term commitment.  The course is a walk-through of all we have to offer over a period of 3-4 years, introducing and expanding on a variety of mechanical, electronic, coding and robotics principles.

This will become the place for learners to journey together through coding and robotics, forming friendships that will extend into teams for competitions and events.

The course requires a year by year commitment, and is for those who value planning stability.  It is not suitable for learners who are over-committed to constantly changing extramural timetables.

The course will run once per week for the year (excluding public holidays and government school holidays).

In this course, learners will use the revised Lego Mindstorms programming language to program the Spike robot.  This revised coding platform is Blockly based, as opposed to the original visual code.

Basic movement will be covered before moving on to more advanced activities on the 2021 First Lego League Challenge Mat.

Learners will code the Spike to use its gyroscope, touch sensor, ultrasonic sensor and colour sensor to navigate the Challenge Mat and complete the challenges.

Dates:  Wed, 1 Feb 2023  –  Wed, 13 Dec 2023

Cost:  R600 per month (for 11 months) payable on the 1st of the month.
